What Are the Benefits of Being a Guardian Home?

As a Guardian Family you will have the rare and special opportunity to adopt one of GWagz' top quality breeding prospect puppies at half the price, meaning you only pay $1,750. With each litter your GWagz pup produces, a portion of this adoption fee will be returned to you until the full adoption fee is returned to you at the end of your guardian obligation. Your dog will live with you as your forever pet but remain under the ownership of GWagz until the end of your guardian obligations when your dog is retired from breeding and full ownership is transferred to you! You will get to participate in an ethical breeding program and experience the joy of seeing your pet's offspring. There is also a special discount if you purchase more puppies from us in the future, in addition to great rewards for referring other guardian homes to us!

Why Are Guardian Homes Needed?

GWagz breeding dogs are adored as pets in our home and in the homes of our guardian families. We do not house our dogs in kennels and can only provide so much space, time and attention for our dogs, so we choose to place many of our breeding dogs in loving, forever guardian homes. Our dogs are beloved family members and we want to ensure that they have the best quality of life possible by remaining in the same loving home for their lifetime with minimal disruption - where they will receive the care and attention they deserve! We carefully select guardian puppies based on their temperament, health testing, genetics, conformation, intelligence, and beauty and we love being able to share that dedication with our guardian families and work together to promote the authenticity and quality of the Australian Labradoodle for future generations to enjoy!

Does My Family Qualify to Be A Guardian Home?

Being part of our guardian program is an important responsibility and we couldn't do what we do without you! Part of the guardian home obligations include regularly communicating with us, sending us updated photos and videos and working closely together to align with the dog's breeding and/or whelping schedule. To ensure the health and safety of our guardian dogs, we have certain requirements for families who join our Guardian Program. While this is an exciting opportunity with many great perks, it does require a level of commitment. We ask that in order to qualify, all of our guardians meet the requirements and commitments outlined below:

Live within a three hour drive from us (Knoxville, TN) or in the North VA - DC area where we frequently visit
Own your home and allow us to visit you at your home occasionally only if needed
Dog on leash at all times when outside the home or fenced yard
Must be indoor pet and provide a safe environment with a puppy proof home
Flexible Schedule that allows puppy to not be alone more than a few hours at a time
Successfully complete basic obedience and house training training by the time puppy is 4 - 6 months old
Understand and cooperate with the care and responsibilities of a breeding dog
Transport puppy to us for health testing and breeding
Feed the food and supplements we require
Provide socialization and regular moderate exercise
Take full responsibility to prevent breeding outside of the GWagz Breeding Program
Send monthly photos and/or videos
Professional Grooming according to the approved, breed standard cut as detailed by GWagz (every 6-8 weeks)
Provide regular health, veterinary care and keep vaccinations current
Vaccinations as we outline, providing us copies of vaccine records and for all veterinary visits
Keep open communication relating to health and condition of the puppy / dog and notify us of heat cycles for females
Notify GWagz of any contact information changes of phone, email or physical address.
Upon fulfillment of guardian family contract the dog will be spayed or neutered and registration will be transfer from GWagz to guardian family at our expense
